February events programme to inform and inspire...

It’s been a busy month for the iFeatures team, reading scripts and interviewing applicants from the 550 submissions we’ve had to select the final 12 groups. Watch this space for news of who’s made it through to the first round.

In the meantime, we’ve also been putting together a programme of inspirational and educational events to keep the momentum going for everyone who’s applied and to show just what can be achieved in budget feature filmmaking.

First up, and in conjunction with Watershed, there’s a preview screening of the film, Kicks, one of three projects executive produced by Chris Moll under the Digital Departures scheme, part of Liverpool's tenure as European Capital of Culture. Chris will be there to introduce the film.

Also hosted by Watershed, and in association with BAFTA, Cineformation, Verve Pictures and BBC Films, actor and director David Morrissey will be on hand to answer questions on his debut feature, Don’t Worry About Me.

Later in February, we’re teaming up with Cineformation and Watershed once again for iFeatures: What Happens Now. For anyone who didn’t make it through to the initial development phase of the scheme, Chris Moll will talk through the other opportunities that are out there and how you can move your project forward.

And to whet your appetite and keep the inspiration coming, Watershed is set to run a season of Sunday brunch screenings of low budget/big ambition films. The programme runs throughout February and the titles to be shown are:

Following
Once
The Blair Witch Project
El Mariachi
